In 2004, I kicked out of the corporate rat race, to follow my heart, and try to achieve a better work/life balance, as well as to make a career change.  I came to the conclusion that I would rather work with keen learners and have the employment stability that an education promises.

From 2004 until 2008 I completed my BA Honours in Adventure Education at Chichester University.  I have qualified as a Kayak and Canoe coach, hold my climbing instructor certificate, and am working towards my mountain leader certificate. I am a qualified first aider as my awards dictate this and have recently been accreditied as Duke of edinburgh assessor at all levels.

I have just completed my (PGCE) Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Applied ICT, at St Marys University College in Twickenham.  One can never have enough qualifications huh!

I am still keen to use my adventure skills to get the children out into the environment so maybe I can structure a learning program involving both ICT and the outdoors. A bit like an outdoor club with skills attached.  Or that's one plan anyway.  I am currently working as an ICT teacher at Croydon High School, an independent girls school in Croydon. I run the whole Duke of Edinburgh programme for them (60 participants in 2010) and will be involved in the outdoor activities programme for sixth formers.

I am still running my independent ski trips every year and have recently bought a new BMW 1200 GS motorbike to try a different form of touring.
